Our fundraising continues throughout the year (please visit our
'Fundraising Activities Page' for more information). Donations are are often made in memory of a loved one or friend or simply just to donate to this very worthwhile cause. We send a card to the bereaved family in your name advising that a donation has been made.
Through the generosity of donors, we have been able to purchase the Colposcope with state of the art digital imaging equipment for the detection of Cervical Cancer for $42,000. It is now in use by the Gynecologists at our local hospital, thanks fo the generosity of our citizens and local businesses. There are only 6 other hospitals in B.C. with this technology linking the patient's information instantly to B.C.'s leading Oncologist in Vancouver.
This modern technology will allow our Gynecologists to communicate by direct link video with B.C.’s leading Oncologist while the patient is in the office. Instant decision on treatment!
Williams Lake has a very high rate of Cervical Cancer.
