The Great Cariboo Bed Race objective is to
raise funds to purchase New equipment for
our Hospital.
Get a team together and choose to just raise funds and compete for the 'Most Pledges Trophy', you don’t have to race a bed! Or your team may choose to do both and compete for both trophies.

Rules:
1) Every team should be of mixed gender (3 males, 2 females or opposite).
2) We supply the beds.
3) Racing takes place going both ways on the street, for approximately a city block with each of the five participants taking turns on the bed, putting on a hospital gown, switching at each cone, all the while carrying a bag of
“
mysterious yellow liquid ” without spilling it.
Registration:
All entries for the bed race must be received no later than Thursday May 8 2009. The entry fee of $50.00 must accompany the registration form.

Thanks to Parade of Choirs 2009!
We thank all of the singers, musicians and Conductors of the Parade of choirs, who rendered an afternoon of fantastic music, performed by the Cariboo Seniors Carolers, Quintet Plus, 100 Mile Eclectica, Cariboo Men’s Choir and the Combined United Church Choirs. This is the second year these volunteers have given of their time and talent. They delighted an enthusiastic, capacity crowd in the Cariboo Bethel Church, with a varied program, receiving a standing ovation in appreciation of their many talents. An afternoon of musical appreciation with over tones of fun added.
Hough Memorial Cancer Society is also delighted with the announcement they will perform again next year. Definitely an event to mark on your must attend list.
All of the donations of $2,720.00 for attendance were earmarked for Hough Memorial to purchase up to date, Cancer detection equipment for our local hospital. Our immediate project is another Digital Video Colonoscope. We will still have to raise about $11,000.00 to complete the purchase.
The Parade of Choirs is one of the two big fund raisers for Hough Memorial.
The Great Cariboo bed Race will take place on May 9th this year. Every dollar raised stays in Williams Lake for the purchase of up to date equipment and the benefit of our local citizens. Income tax receipts available on request.
In 2008 we were able to purchase a Colposcope (for Cervical Cancer),
Digital Video Colonoscope, Laryngoscope, Hysteroscope, Pediatric Cystoscope, for a total of $74,020.36.
If you have been in the Hospital for an operation or procedure, you will have utilized at least one piece of equipment purchased by Hough Memorial. With your help, our objective is to continue purchasing the latest up to date Technology for the benefit of our local citizens.

Every life saved-Priceless!
Update!
We are pleased to announce the Colposcope, state of the art equipment, for the discovery of Cervical Cancer is now in use by the Gynecologists at our local Hospital, thanks to the generosity of our citizens and local businesses. There are only 6 other hospitals in B.C. with this technology linking the patients information instantly to B.C.’s leading Oncologist in Vancouver.
